Layering and Using Pattern Adhesive Vinyl (Smashing Ink Vinyl)
Class: Layering and Using Pattern Adhesive Vinyl
Skill Level: Beginner
Supplies needed: The participants won't need to bring anything. If they have a weeding tool, scissors, or squeegee that they prefer to use, they are welcome to bring them but we will have them on hand
Description of class: In this class, I will teach the beginning steps on using a vinyl cutting machine to make adhesive decals to decorate a 2 inch acrylic keychain. I will show the class the process of going from design to using the machine to cutting to preparing the decal for application. I will have a design already cut for each participant so they can learn the process of weeding and applying the vinyl decal to the keychain. We will be layering the first layer as a patterned background and then the design will be a solid color second layer. In the class they will learn methods to apply the vinyl and use registration marks to layer the vinyl so that each piece lines up exactly where it should be.
Information on what will be made in class: Participants will leave with a customized keychain, a squeegee, and weeding tool.
