We love supporting local business and when we were planning the Idaho Scrapbook Show, we knew we had to give lots of love and support to Handy Hands Reflections!
What is Handy Hands? They are an organization dedicated to providing memory books for those who have lost loved ones. This local non-profit is doing some amazing work, not just in the Treasure Valley, but all over the United States!
The founder of this organization, Jacki Kelsch, started the organization 10 years ago with the goal to create and donate personalized memory albums for loved ones experiencing the end of life. Since then, Handy Hands has grown with the supplies and volunteers needed to make it a success.
Since its inception, Jacki and her volunteers have completed over 1100 memory books!
So many generous donations have been given to Handy Hands over the years which allows volunteers to come into the shop and make pages for the memory books.
Jacki was at the Idaho Scrapbook Show in February and many of our attendees made and donated pages– over 150 were made to use in memory books!
This summer, Handy Hands will host its 10th Anniversary Craft Crop July 20-21. Space is limited, so don’t wait to sign up! For more information, you can go to the website at http://www.handyhandsreflections.org/, or contact Jacki direct at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Handy Hands is currently looking for a new space to lease so they can continue this amazing service. Once they find a new location, they will provide everyone with their new hours of operation and volunteer dates and times. In preparation for their move, they are going to have a Craft Sale at their store on June 2, from 8-4. There will be lots of craft supplies for sale – head on down and say hi to Jacki while you are there!
